CHCP has been helping students achieve their professional goals of working in the healthcare field for 30 years. Whether you're looking for medical coding and billing or dental assisting career training in Houston, TX, CHCP offers a variety of flexible courses that will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to be part of healthcare teams at hospitals, nursing facilities, physician's offices and other locations.

Pursue a Career as a Dental Assistant

CHCP’s Houston Med Center-based Dental Assistant Program is designed to help you prepare for entry-level positions in dental work. As a dental assistant, you will provide compassionate patient care in a dental support role. Your dental assistant certificate program will cover everything from administrative and office procedures to technical patient-centered tasks, such as dental radiographs and maintaining dental equipment. And, from our modern dental lab located at our Houston Med Center location, you will learn how to help dentists with procedures such as fillings, crowns, extractions, and root canals.  

Once you complete your Houston Med Center-based dental assistant program from CHCP, you will be prepared to take your certification test and move forward to obtaining your state-registered dental assistant x-ray certification through the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.

Or Pursue Your Medical Assistant Career

The Medical Assistant Program offered at CHCP’s Houston Med Center campus will prepare you for a career as a medical assistant. This blended (on-campus and online) program is designed to take 36 weeks. You will learn how to take vital signs, record patient history, perform EKG injections, and more. Graduates from our program are well-trained in both clinical and administrative skills; this versatility allows them to be utilized at the front desk as well as in a hands-on, medical capacity. In addition, we emphasize professional communication, so you will be able to communicate well with coworkers, patients, and other medical personnel.

Once you complete our Medical Assistant Program in Houston, you’ll be more than ready to take the Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant Exam through the National Association of Health Professionals. With medical assistant training from CHCP, you’ll be equipped with all of the knowledge you need to be an entry-level medical assistant.

Can I apply for Financial Aid at CHCP?

Financial aid is available for those who qualify. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the key to obtaining federal financial aid such as grants, student loans, and more. What is Career Services? Does Career Services guarantee a job?

Career Services is available to every CHCP student for life. Each campus has a Career Services Director and team that will work with the students to help them develop interpersonal skills that healthcare professionals seek when reviewing candidates to hire. They also offer job placement assistance.

How do I contact a staff member or department?

If you are looking to contact the staff member of a specific department, give our campus a call for more information. During our campus tours, we can work with the program directors to set up time to discuss your needs or questions about a program.

Do I need to submit SAT or ACT scores?

CHCP does not require students to submit their ACT or SAT scores upon enrollment. You are required to have a high school diploma or GED. Diplomas issued outside of the United States must be translated and notarized prior to enrollment. Students should be able to fluently read and write in English.

Are home school diplomas accepted?

We accept all high school diplomas or GEDs from locally recognized home school programs. If you are not sure, please bring your diploma and related paperwork.

Why is the program I want not available at this campus?

While we currently may not offer the program you are looking for at the Houston Med Center Campus, we are constantly expanding our programs across all campuses. If a program is not offered here, you can also check our Online campus or another campus nearby (if applicable).

What do I do if I am not accepted for the program I want to enroll in?

We have rolling admissions throughout the year. If  you are not accepted in a specific program, it may be due to space or you did not meet the enrollment requirements. If we do not have a space open, we will work to get you into the next available program start. If you did not meet the enrollment requirements, check out our other programs available or talk to admissions who will work with you to find another program that fits your goals.

Do we offer day and evening classes?

The CHCP Houston Med Center campus offers day and evening courses in many of our programs. We also offer innovative blended programs that provide the flexibility to fit into your busy schedule.

Does CHCP Houston Med Center accept students of varying ages and backgrounds?

Yes, CHCP has students from varying backgrounds and different stages in their lives. We strive to offer support in any way possible to help them reach their goals.

Will my credits transfer into a CHCP Program?

Depending on the types of courses you took and how long ago you received credit for them, you may be eligible to transfer credits into a qualifying program. Please be sure to provide your official transcript upon enrollment.

Is CHCP Houston - Med Center a trade school or a college?

CHCP Houston - Med Center is a private, accredited college specializing in allied healthcare education. While we provide career-focused training, we also offer associate degree programs, distinguishing us from traditional trade schools.
