The College of Health Care Professions (CHCP) Online Division received the Lamp of Learning award from the National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP). The award is given to campuses that exceed the national average pass rates for NAHP certifications.

"The Lamp of Learning award is verification that CHCP does all it can to prepare students for their exams and work with them to ensure they can pass," shares Martin O'Neil, Director of Digital Services - Academics at CHCP.

NAHP is the testing agency for our Medical Assistant and Medical Coding and Billing certificate programs. They are one of the premier U.S. credentialing bodies for healthcare professionals and CHCP has a long history with them as a testing agency.

"There are only three test sites out of over 300 that are chosen nationally each year for this award л this year our efforts paid off and we were one of them," shares O'Neil. Our Online and McAllen campuses were among the recipients.

Online Program Growth and Success

CHCP knows that many of our students work while going to school, which is why we offer the convenience and flexibility of an online education. With an online degree program, students have the independence to advance their career around their busy schedule.

Attending school online is just like attending on-campus, only with added flexibility. This allows for life beyond school so students can attend classes on their own schedule and pace. Our online program students have 24/7 access to coursework and IT support. Students are able to practice simulations virtually and hands-on requirements are done on the weekends.

With over 1500 students enrolled, the online program has the largest campus at CHCP and continues to grow. The program has adapted and grown from 700 students in 2018 to over 1,500 in less than four years. We currently have over 110 adjunct online instructors who have direct industry experience and are recognized as experts in their fields.

Students who choose to receive online training are assigned a Student Services Advisor who provides individualized and personalized service, ensuring an online degree experience second to none.

"As one of the premier and largest allied healthcare colleges in Texas, we make significant investments in our students. We work to enhance the student experience and ensure that they have job opportunities after they graduate," shares O'Neil.
