The College of Health Care Professions (CHCP) McAllen campus offers eight diverse certificate and degree healthcare programs. When enrolled at CHCP, students have the opportunity to learn specific skills without any unnecessary classes with added flexibility. “At CHCP, you can continue your education while balancing your life through our blended (online and on-campus) program offerings,” shares Joe Cortez, McAllen Campus President. Since the south Texas campus opened in October of 2015, over 1,600 graduates have walked across the stage.

But the mission goes beyond distributing diplomas. Getting students certified and hired within their industry is the real objective. We believe that graduation is only the beginning of a student’s career.

Our students earn their credentials when they pass the National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP) certification test and graduate. NAHP is the premier U.S. credentialing body for healthcare professionals. Their mission is to promote and provide quality certification programs that validate knowledge in the healthcare arena for the enhancement of patient care and professional practice.

NAHP awarded the McAllen campus the Lamp of Learning Award for our students exceeding the national average pass rates for the Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant Exam (NRCMA)  and Nationally Registered Certified Coding Specialist Exam (NRCCS).

There are only three test sites out of over 300 that earn this award. Our McAllen and Online campuses were among them. Our students inspire us and prove that achieving your dreams is possible when you have instructors committed to your success. As a result, we have been able to fill the employment needs of the local Rio Grande Valley communities.

The Lamp of Learning Award included a $500 donation that our McAllen student ambassadors will use to fund community service projects.

“When enrolled at CHCP, students gain life skills, confidence and a passion for helping others in a rewarding career,” shares Cortez. If you are looking for a rewarding career in healthcare, apply todayor visit the campus for a tour.
