In June 2025, The College of Health Care Professions (CHCP) officially launched Intelligent Workforce Solutions, a dedicated division designed to help health systems nationwide tackle frontline staffing shortages through customized, cost-effective training. Led by AJ Thomas, the new group formalizes the scalable upskilling pathways for critical patient-facing roles—starting with CHCP’s hallmark Medical Assistant (MA) and Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) programs.

CHCP has long been a go-to partner for Texas healthcare providers seeking flexible, employer-aligned training. This new division builds on that legacy—meeting health systems where they are, and co-developing training programs based on real-time workforce needs.

“CHCP’s legacy is built on training the healthcare workforce of tomorrow,” said Jon Patterson, President of CHCP Digital Services. “With Intelligent Workforce Solutions, we’re scaling that mission.”

From online coursework and hands-on clinical training at employer sites to wraparound student supports, CHCP’s approach reduces vacancy costs and strengthens talent pipelines. Or, as AJ Thomas puts it: “This is about building workforce solutions that work for both people and systems.”
