Eric Bing, Chancellor of The College of Health Care Professions (CHCP), was featured today in Newsweek for his commentary on how colleges must be more resourceful than ever to support their students from enrollment to graduation.

In this opinion piece, Eric tells how CHCP staff helped a new student solve a personal crisis — her car stopped working in the middle of a campus parking lot — on her first day of class. The solution lay in a YouTube video and a $6 fuse that the campus president purchased at a nearby auto parts store. As federal COVID-19 relief funds dry up while students’ lives remain as complicated as ever, Eric argues that colleges must become increasingly creative to continue supporting their students in multiple ways — structurally, culturally, financially and with off-campus resources.
