Are you interested in a front-line support role in surgical medicine? The Surgical Technology program is focused on skills needed to become a critical member of a surgical team —earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Surgical Technology from the College of Health Care Professions.

Operating rooms can be hectic, confusing places. From sterilizing equipment to stocking supplies to working with doctors and nurses during medical procedures, surgical techs make sense of it all. This associate degree program can help you gain the skills and knowledge necessary to take the Certified Surgical Technologist exam.

Numerous opportunities await surgical technicians, particularly those who have completed a degree program. You could find yourself specializing in different fields, including OB-GYN, orthopedics, and reconstructive surgery units. Surgical technologists can be found in hospitals, surgery centers, in private practice and more. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics* estimates a 9% increase in the number of surgical technologists from 2020 – 2030—a faster than average pace.
