Thinking of a career as a pharmacy technician? The College of Health Care Professions can help you take the next step toward a role as a certified pharmacy technician in a variety of settings, from hospitals to retail pharmacies.
Pharmacy technicians play a vital role directly supporting pharmacists through receiving and confirming prescription orders, assembling medicines and informing and educating patients about their medications. A high level of organizational and client-service skills is required to successfully navigate the customer-driven front lines, as well as behind-the-scenes operations of pharmacies.
With a pharmacy technician assistant certificate from CHCP, you will be prepared to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam and able to enter the workforce as an entry-level pharmacy technician. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics*, job openings for pharmacy technicians are projected to grow 4 percent by 2029—an addition of 422,300 jobs.
