Have you been thinking about taking your nursing career to the next level? Becoming a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) was the first crucial step. Now, take the next step—complete your Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing from the College of Health Care Professions for the education and skills you need to pursue a registered nurse (RN) designation.

This degree bridge program was specifically designed as an LVN to RN transition program. In it, you’ll have opportunities to explore coursework that introduces you to communication, critical thinking, and clinical reasoning skills for patient-centered care. Topics include concepts related to providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients—and the public—on various health conditions, and becoming an advocate for patients and families. This is the education you need to have a direct and positive impact on the health and well-being of your patients.

RNs are in demand. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than 250,000 new RN positions will open up by 2030—a projected job growth rate of 9 percent! With your AAS degree in nursing, you will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam and pursue relevant care positions in any number of healthcare settings, from medical offices to hospital ERs. As is the case for all healthcare occupations, the demand for registered nurses is high.
