The Medical Assistant program at the College of Health Care Professions can help you develop the skills needed to perform many aspects of patient care.  Medical assistants serve a vital role on the front lines of healthcare. Key duties can include supporting doctors and nurses, phlebotomy, documenting patient history and vital signs, processing patient insurance and billing.  Medical assistants help physician offices, group medical practices, long-term medical care facilities and many other care communities run smoothly.

Program Options

CHCP, established by physicians, provides a 36-week medical assistant program with blended learning. Students attending on-campus classes at any of our Texas campuses can select from the following schedule options:

  • One-day per week on-campus
  • Two-days per week on-campus
  • Two or three-day per week on-campus night class

Further education for our blended programs is conducted online, combining the flexibility of online courses with the benefits of hands-on training.
