Prepare to step onto the forefront of emergency medical care! As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) you can have a life-saving impact on a number of medical emergencies—from car accident victims to those experiencing cardiac arrest and more. An EMT Certificate from the College of Health Care Professions can get you started on this new career path!

The EMT certificate program at the College of Health Care Professions is designed to help prepare you to deliver medical care in emergency situations. Coursework covers medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, patient assessment, trauma emergencies, emergency care in special populations, and EMS operations. Plus, this program will help you prepare to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam for EMT-Basic and apply for the Texas Department of State Health Services licensure.

There is a high demand for qualified EMTs. The EMT certificate program from CHCP will help prepare you to fill this demand with the right job skills—ready to transfer directly to the field. According to the  U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are approximately 269,000 EMT positions—and that number is only growing. By 2032, there will be an additional 14,600 new EMT job openings that need filling — a faster-than-average projected job growth rate of 5 percent!
