What will I learn in my Massage Therapy Training Program?

  1. Must be 18 years’ old at the time of application.
  2. Complete at least 500 hours of in-class instruction provided by a licensed massage school, a massage therapy instructor at a massage school, a state approved educational institution, or a combination of any of these.
  3. Get a passing score on the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEX) offered by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB).
  4. Gather your official transcript of all relevant coursework from your school, your official MBLEX examination scores, and an application fee of $117.
  5. Complete and submit the Massage Therapist License Application online or through the mail, and send it along with all the materials listed above.
  6. You will be sent your massage therapy license, The Texas Department of State Health Services notes that it generally takes 3 to 6 weeks for a credential to be issued.
