CHCP Graduate and Super Mom Stacey-Ann Foster Featured in Inside Higher Ed

January 28 2022

Today, Inside Higher Ed published an opinion piece by Stacey-Ann Foster, a graduate and Associate Director of Student Success Services at the College of Health Care Professions (CHCP). Stacey-Ann shares her college experience as a single mother of two in the piece, “Another Educational Challenge COVID Has Revealed”. Knowing all too well what it’s like to juggle daily life, school and raising her two sons, Stacey highlights ways institutions can improve pathways and support for parent learners who benefit from hybrid online learning programs, flexible student services and access to affordable, high-quality child care options. While the number of single parent learners in college has more than doubled in the past two decades, Stacey-Ann’s story is a call to action for educators to reevaluate how best to serve their nontraditional students looking to achieve excellence. The entire story can be found here.
