CHCP American Dream Scholarship

The College of Health Care Professions Online is offering up to a $2,000 academic scholarship for an associate degree program and up to a $3,500 academic scholarship for a bachelor degree program to attend CHCP Online.  All those interested in pursuing a career in health care and are looking for the flexibility of a online program are encouraged to apply.

The CHCP American Dream Scholarship Submission Requirements:

  • Applicant must fill out and submit the CHCP American Dream Scholarship Application Form
  • Applicant must submit an Essay based on the following:
  • The theme of the essay is: How I plan to use the education I receive from The College of Health Care Professions to achieve my American Dream of a health care career and make a positive difference in the world
  • The essay should be 300-500 words (double spaced) in length. Be sure to include your name at the top of your essay.
  • Completed applications must be submitted prior to the term start in which it will be applied.
  • Qualified applicants can submit the CHCP American Dream Scholarship Application and Essay by:

Eligibility

  • Must be a first-time enrollee in a program at The College of Health Care Professions.
  • Must meet all current admissions requirements at The College of Health Care Professions and be accepted for admission.
  • Must complete the “CHCP Dream Scholarship” Application Form
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and  be continuously enrolled; withdrawing from school will result in ineligibility
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must provide copy of acceptable GED or high school graduation.

Other Terms and Conditions:

  • All application materials and proof of eligibility must be provided on or before the time of start.  If all of the application materials and proof of eligibility are not provided to The College of Health Care Professions on or before the time of start, the student is not eligible for the CHCP American Dream Scholarship and will be responsible for the total cost of tuition and fees.
  • The CHCP American Dream Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other CHCP discounts or scholarships.  It is non-transferable, non-refundable and has no cash value.
  • CHCP scholarship funding is limited and if exhausted, students may not be awarded the scholarship.

Additional Information:

  • Notification of award recipient will be made within 7 business days of submission.
  • If approved, the CHCP American Dream Scholarship will be applied as a tuition credit per academic year unless the student loses eligibility. Students are responsible for payment of tuition and fees not covered by the CHCP American Dream Scholarship.

CHCP High School Senior Scholarship

The College of Health Care Professions is offering a $1,500 academic scholarship to attend CHCP for a graduating high school senior who is interested in pursuing a career in health care.  All graduating high school seniors interested in health care should apply. Completed applications must be submitted/post marked by September 30, 2016.

Qualified applicants can submit the Scholarship Application and Requirements by sending an email to scholarship@chcp.edu or by mail to:  The College of Health Care Professions, Attn: Scholarship Committee, 1001 West Loop South Suite 750 Houston, TX 77027. 

To be eligible, a student must be a graduating high school senior who resides in Texas and intends to continue their education at The College of Health Care Professions either Online or at a ground campus.  Consideration will be given to academic achievement, essay submission and letter of recommendation.

Scholarship Submission Requirements

ESSAY
The theme of the essay is: Why you love health care and how do you plan to use your health care education from CHCP to make the world a better place? Your essay should be 300-500 words (double spaced) in length. Be sure to include your name and the name of your high school at the top of your essay.

GRADE POINT AVERAGE
The applicant’s grade point average (GPA) must be 3.0 or higher through the end of junior year.

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION       
A letter of recommendation from a current or past teacher familiar with your passion for health care should be included with the application.

TRANSCRIPT
A copy of your official high school transcripts through the current semester completed should be submitted with the application.

CHCP Grant

The CHCP Assistance Grant is a need based program, revolving around student achievement. Eligible students must:

  • demonstrate a shortfall between available financial aid and the cost of their program,
  • maintain at least half-time enrollment status,
  • maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • commit to a minimum monthly payment while attending school,
  • meet all graduation requirements

Award amounts vary and are based per academic year.  Funds are limited therefore not all eligible students may receive this award.
