Begin your Medical Billing & Coding career path with CHCP’s Medical Coding and Billing Certificate Programs in Texas!

Designed Program Length:  35 Weeks

If you’re looking for a healthcare career that provides you with independence and is mentally stimulating, a medical coding and billing career may be right for you! When you choose to get your medical coding and billing training from CHCP, you will be poised to join motivated healthcare teams at hospitals, nursing facilities, physician's offices and many more locations.

When you get your MCB-HIT training from CHCP, you attend an externship site, where you will receive hands-on administrative training in the coding and billing of medical records and managing that health information for health care professionals and patients. Students will also learn necessary competencies required to take an entry level certification exam in coding and medical records.  After you graduate, you will be qualified to collect and organize medical information and data from patients, physicians, and other health care providers.

Graduates of CHCP’s Medical Coding and Billing program can work as medical billers, medical coders, medical records technicians and health information technicians. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of medical records and health information technicians is expected to increase by 22% from 2012 to 2022.* With a career as a MCB-HIT professional, you will be responsible for completing medical billing forms, filing medical insurance claims, both manually and by automation, practical application of CPT-4, ICD-9/10 and HCPCS codes as well as record-keeping practices for both the hospital and physician’s offices, procedures in content and filing of patient medical records, and use of a variety of filing systems
