Join a Life-Saving Medical Team as a Surgical Technologist

Do you have a desire to help people and enjoy the challenge of a fast-paced, exciting career? With surgical technologist training from CHCP, you can assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses with various surgical procedures. The College of Health Care Professions takes an extremely hands-on approach to teaching, offering lectures, labs, and clinical practice to students so that their surgical technologist training is anything but boring.  A 19% growth is expected from 2010 and 2020, as the population grows and ages, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics*.

Surgical Technologists are vital members of operating room teams. Before operations, they are in charge of assembling equipment, preparing and monitoring patients, and transporting patients. During surgery, technologists assist surgeons through the sterilization of equipment, cutting sutures, holding and passing tools, and operating vital equipment, among numerous other responsibilities. Surgical technologists enjoy a clean, cool, well-lit environment, but must become accustomed to standing for long periods of time.  There are many career path advancement opportunities available for proficient surgical technologists.
