Massage Therapy Program
Help People Feel Better
Massage Therapy (Texas License No. MS0127) is a healing art as much as it is a science. If you are looking for a career where you get to help and heal patients, and also get to set your own hours, then massage therapy could be for you. With a career in massage therapy, you can work full-time or part-time, or work around your existing schedule to leave you time to do other activities such as spending time with your family, earning your college degree, or just enjoying your free time.
In CHCP’s massage therapy program, you will learn the origin, clinical skills, and technical knowledge necessary to become a successful practicing massage therapist. Our massage therapy school teaches students through a combination of hand-on clinical training, demonstrations, and lectures, making training at CHCP a fun and interactive experience.
Not only is it a fun and flexible career, but massage therapy is recognized as one of the fastest growing professions in the medical field today. As more people learn about the benefits of Massage Therapy, employment is expected to increase by 23.4% from 2008 to 2018, according to the Texas Workforce Commission’s Labor Market and Career Information Department.
Massage Therapy is an ancient and instinctual art recognized by the general public, the health care industry, the corporate world, and insurance companies. It is used to bring clients to a deeper level of relaxation, improve health, address pain management issues, prevent injuries, restore a healthy immune system, improve work production, enhance physical fitness, and facilitate overall wellness.
After you’ve graduated from CHCP’s massage therapy school, you will be prepared for licensing in the state of Texas and eligible for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork credential. We also offer job placement assistance to graduates who want guidance with their job search.
Please note that candidates for the program must be in moderately good health, as this is a physically demanding and strenuous occupation. Most graduates are self-employed, but many find jobs in doctors' offices, hospitals, chiropractors' offices, day spas, facial and beauty salons, nail salons, country clubs, resorts, cruise ships, casinos, hotels, gyms and fitness clubs, athletic teams and dance companies, corporate wellness programs, shopping malls, airports, nursing homes, psychiatric treatment centers, sports medicine clinics, physical therapy clinics, pain management centers, in private practice in your home or the client’s home, or an office setting.
Criminal History Evaluation Process:
There is now a process for current & potential students to have their criminal history evaluated by the Texas Department of State Health Services to determine eligibility for state licensure. Please refer to the below listed link. We recommend completing the evaluation prior to enrolling to avoid unnecessary hardship or costs if the criminal history is grounds for license ineligibility.
