Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist Program

One of the fastest-growing health
care careers

The Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist program at CHCP provides high-quality training to students who wish to work directly with patients and are interested in a highly focused and technical medical position with opportunities for advancement.

Limited Medical Radiologic Technologists, also referred to as limited x-ray technologists or imaging technologists, take X-rays of patients’ various anatomy, then pass the images along to doctors for diagnosis. The limited medical radiologic technologist role is very specialized, yet you will still work closely with patients, explaining procedures, setting up and operating the X-ray machine and related equipment. Job responsibilities will include positioning patients for X-rays, determining appropriate angle and height of X-ray equipment, and calculating the dosage of radiation needed to create quality  X-rays of the appropriate density, detail, and contrast, which enables the physician to make an accurate diagnosis.

Not only will you have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping in the process of healing another person, but you will have a career in the growing field of allied health. Employment of Limited Medical Radiologic Technologists is expected to grow 26.3% from 2008 to 2018, faster than the average for other occupations according to Texas Workforce Commission’s Labor Market and Career Information Department.

There are many limited medical radiologic technologist schools to choose from, but at CHCP you will get hands-on training in many areas of radiology which will prepare you to pass the Texas state licensing exam after graduation.  Apply today to begin your training as a radiology technician and start your journey to a career in a hospital, chiropractor’s office, medical office, or digital imaging center.

Criminal History Evaluation Process:
There is now a process for current & potential students to have their criminal history evaluated by the Texas Department of State Health Services to determine eligibility for state licensure. Please refer to the below listed link. We recommend completing the evaluation prior to enrolling to avoid unnecessary hardship or costs if the criminal history is grounds for license ineligibility.
