Coding Your Future – The CHCP MCB-HIT Program

Some say behind the scenes is where the real action happens. With a career in Medical Coding and Billing – Health Information Technology (MCB-HIT), you can obtain the independence, professional environment, and mentally stimulating responsibilities you have been seeking. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of Medical Records and Health Information Technicians is expected to increase by 21% through 2020.* The more independent environment is what interested CHCP MCB-HIT student Hannah Arnold in the field.

After moving to Texas to care for her sick father, Hannah knew she wanted to be involved in health care, despite not being fond of blood and being in the front line. When she heard about CHCP’s MCB-HIT program, Hannah went for a tour, loved what she saw and the people she met. In Hannah’s words, “the rest is history.”

At CHCP, students learn how to bill for procedures with all the up to date technology regarding ICD-9/10 codes, health care reform, new laws books and more.

When you get your MCB-HIT training from CHCP, students receive hands-on administrative training in the coding and billing of medical records and managing that health information for health care professionals and patients through their classes and externships. Students will also review necessary competencies required to take an entry level certification exam in coding and medical records. After you graduate, you will be qualified to collect and organize medical information and data from patients, physicians, and other health care providers.
