Choosing Your Career Path

know-yourself.jpg

Having doubts about what path your life should take? Or are you unhappy at your current job? Maybe you have already decided to make that change into a medical career, but are still undecided about what program to take with CHCP.

Whether you choose Dental Assisting, Nursing, Massage Therapy, or Medical Assisting, you need to be sure you are happy with your decision. Offering 11 unique programs, CHCP Admissions and advisors will make sure each program is discussed thoroughly to see what could be a good match for you.

Once you get an idea of what you may be interested in, you should also get input from family and friends. They may know someone or have experience in the field you are choosing and can provide some insight of what to expect. You could also go to a facility that hires people in the field you are interested in and set up a time to discuss with someone in that field. These people have worked and can offer advice on key areas to study, difficulties and benefits of the position. Even after discussing with everyone, though, at the end of the day, it is your decision. After all, you are the one who ends up waking up each day to go to work in that field.

When making up your mind, make sure you can answer these questions:

1.    Is this a growing field? Will there be job security for me?

2.    Am I aware of the positives as well as the negatives of this particular job?

3.    Is there room for me to grow as an individual if I take this path?

4.    Will it be a good fit for me?

What do you think about when planning your future?
